LaTeara Barnes

"Prevention starts with education, but real change begins when young people realize they are worth protecting."

With more than 15 years of service in San Bernardino County, Barnes has dedicated her career to building safer, more empowered communities. She currently serves as the Secretary for Project Fighting Chance’s Board of Directors and SoCal Warriors Football and Cheer, bringing her leadership to organizations that uplift youth and families through sports, mentorship, and advocacy.

As the Prevention and Outreach Supervisor at Option House Inc., Barnes leads the Teen Relationship Abuse Prevention program, where she advocates for education, healing, and safety among young people. Her impact reaches even further through her active participation in the Child Abuse Awareness Committee, Women’s Awareness Subcommittee, and the Community Policy Advisory Committee, where she helps shape policies that protect and uplift survivors.

Backed by a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Leadership, her journey spans over a decade in the nonprofit world, including 10 years in domestic violence and human trafficking prevention, and 7 years empowering youth through education and outreach. Barnes blends strategy with heart, leading with compassion and purpose in every space she enters.
